Dr. Leonard, PhD, CBE, has 20 years of experience in economics, insurance, and risk analytics. He is currently a senior researcher at the Insurance Information Institute (Triple-I), the insurance industry’s leading research and communication organization, where his portfolio includes economics, thought leadership, and education. In addition, he is faculty at both New York University and Columbia University where he focuses on applied economics and machine learning.
Dr. Leonard started his career with Richard Medley, was Chief Economist at Aon and JLT, Chief Economist & Data Scientist at Alliant Insurance, and Chief Data Scientist and Principal at MaKro LLC. A trusted advisor to his client, he works primarily with CFOs, risk managers, and insurance underwriters to generate risk analytics that support and facilitate complex financial transactions.
He received his undergraduate degree from McGill University and advanced degrees from Harvard University and the University of Virginia where his PhD focused on quantitative risk modeling.
